How does price affect your choice of a dental lab?
"Cheap price is not something I look at. The lower price labs I stay away from. I look at how many adjustments I need to make, how consistent they are, and how quickly I can successfully send the patient on their way. That will always be more important than the actual price."
Why do you choose Tim and RiverRock for your complex dentistry?
"I send the complicated dentures to RiverRock. Tim (Bolin) ascribes to the same occlusal concepts I do. We speak the same language; I know what he is saying. He has been very helpful with these complex cases. We both use the AccuLiner articulator; it works very well with dentures and big reconstructive cases. That is one reason I continue to use RiverRock. Another reason is Tim is always up to date, which makes me feel more comfortable that I am getting the best, whether complex or not."
What is different about a RiverRock laboratory relationship?
"For five years I had been looking for a good dental lab. I do not like having no idea who is working on my dentistry and how it will look when it gets back to me. The ability to speak to a real person is very positive. It is one-on-one. They even deal with problems very well. Tim and I have the same goals. He is almost too nice to be true, but it is real and it comes out in his work and in how he treats his clients."
What have your patients said about RiverRock's denture expertise?
"I have a funny story. A patient came in for a check up a week after getting his dentures, and abruptly said to me, 'Did YOU make these dentures?' And of course I said (and most dentists would say), well no, actually the lab made your dentures. He said, 'Well you tell that lab man that this is the best denture I ever had!'. So yes, my patients notice the difference."
